Refund policy

Scope

This policy applies to professional internal controls audit engagements booked with Autodatatech. Website fee ranges are informational only; binding fees appear in a written proposal or engagement letter. We do not sell physical products, software licences, or online checkout purchases through this site.

Eligibility for refunds

Refunds apply only to fees actually paid for a confirmed engagement. Enquiries and unpaid proposals create no refund obligation.

Timeframe

Cancellation requests seeking a refund must be received in writing at least five business days before the agreed fieldwork start date (the first scheduled walkthrough or evidence kickoff). Requests after that window are assessed under partial refund and work-started rules below.

Full refund

A full refund of prepaid engagement fees is available when you cancel in writing five or more business days before fieldwork starts and we have not begun substantive evidence review, access testing, or interviews beyond the initial scoping call.

Partial refund

If cancellation occurs fewer than five business days before start, or after limited preparatory work has begun (for example planning memos or preliminary document intake), we may retain a portion of fees reflecting time already spent and non-recoverable preparation, and refund the balance. The retained amount will not exceed reasonable costs for work performed.

Non-refundable items

• Completed audit modules or phases already delivered (for example a finished findings register for an in-scope area)
• Deposits expressly marked non-refundable in the engagement letter once fieldwork has started
• Third-party costs we incur at your written request (such as specialised data extraction support) after those costs are committed

Work already started

Once fieldwork begins — including system walkthroughs, sample testing, or draft findings — fees for completed work are earned. Unused future phases in a multi-phase proposal may be cancelled with a partial refund of unperformed phases, subject to the engagement letter.

Deposits

Engagements may require a deposit to reserve team capacity. Deposits are credited toward the final fee. Refund of deposits follows the full and partial rules above unless the letter states a specific non-refundable deposit after a named milestone.

Cancellation and rescheduling

You may reschedule fieldwork once without penalty if you give at least five business days’ notice and a new date within sixty days is agreed. Later reschedules or repeated moves may incur a rescheduling fee reflecting calendar disruption. We may cancel or postpone for illness, access delays on your side, or force majeure; prepaid fees for unperformed work remain refundable or creditable toward a new date.

No-shows

If key client contacts miss agreed walkthroughs without reasonable notice and the session cannot be reused that day, we may charge for the reserved time or deduct it from prepaid fees. Repeated no-shows may lead to engagement termination with fees owed for work completed plus reserved sessions.

Purchased materials

We do not sell standalone materials kits. Templates or annexes produced as part of an engagement are deliverables under that engagement and are not separately refundable once delivered.

Refund process and timing

Email hello@autodatatech.digital with your engagement reference, reason for the request, and preferred contact. We confirm eligibility within five business days. Approved refunds are processed within fourteen business days to the original payment method where possible.

Refund method

Refunds follow the original bank transfer or invoiced payment channel. We do not issue cash refunds for wire payments.

Exceptions

If we materially fail to deliver contracted scope without a cure period agreed in writing, you may request a refund or fee reduction proportional to undelivered work. Statutory rights under Hong Kong law that cannot be excluded remain available.
